Holy Cross is excited to announce our renewed partnership with Zion Lutheran Church and Children's Hunger Fund (CHF).
Sunday, Aug. 29
CHF is a Christian mercy ministry that “provides nourishing food for hungry kids in Abilene, across America, and around the world. We distribute Food Paks and other aid through local churches so that they may deliver hope to suffering children and families in their communities.”
Two ways to get involved this August:
1. Donate funds to to buy goods for "Food Paks." Each “Food Pak” contains staples like pasta, canned food, fruit snacks, crackers, and peanut butter, and will provide sustenance and nutrition for needy families with children. The Abilene goal is to provide 1,500 Food Paks. Checks can be made to Holy Cross with “CHF” in the memo line. Cash donations accepted as well. We will take collections through August 29.
2. Participate in our Area-Food-Pak Day: Sunday August 29, 2021. After our worship service, we will join other local churches at Zion Lutheran Church to help pack boxes full of food staples for hungry families. This is a great opportunity to serve and minister together. All are welcome. Please add your name to the sign-up sheet above to help give us an idea of how many will serve.
